Hooray!! I got cool photos of my jewelry!!

Many-many-many ThanХ to Alena Zhukova [info]zhuchkin, fashion photographer from San Francisco for the great photos she made with my jewelry!!!

You can see all the photos at Alena's blog
Or on flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/zhuchkin/
Alena's web site - www.zhuchkin.com
The clothes are by Katya Ryabtseva [info]8_kat_8

Hooray! My site!

I'm so glad I have made and opened my own web-site! With the gallery, tutorials and with a little shop too!
http://www.shimshoni-gallery.com/
It's the first version, I hope I could do a better one later:)

Anna's Metal Beads in Irina's Shop

Today I received these wonderful bronze beads and finding from Russia (from Ural Mountains). These beads were handcrafted by jeweller designer Anna Tchernyh. And Irina Sergeeva, a famous Russian lampwork artist, is selling those in her shop.
Her Russian site - http://www.irina-lampwork.ru/
Her etsy shop - Artisan Findings
I highly recommend Irina's shop - the beads are just great and so unique! I love each and every one of them!
You can look at the photos of the making process of these beads in Anna's blog - http://blackslava.livejournal.com/11559.html

Green Bird Beads

This June when it still wasn't so hot for working with polymer clay, I finished this big order of beads (about 200) for a Russian beads store http://greenbird.ru

Green Bird Beads

I'm showing off just now because these beads were made as small "thank you" presents for a contest participants. The contest was organized by the store owner and my friend Tanya [info]girl_of_fall. Now when she have told about the beads in her store's news blog, I can show them to you too.

Beautiful Copper! Love Copper!

Take a look at Russian Ural Mountains beads store - www.irina-lampwork.ru
It's a store of very talented Russian lampwork artist Irina Sergeeva [info]i_seven. Irina is a very nice and beautiful person herself - just like her beads and her jewelry! And she is working with another artist, Anna Chernykh, who makes beautiful beads, clasps, connectors and so on from copper!

I ordered a lot of copper beads and beading components by Anna Chernykh - can't wait to receive the order and start to use these wonderful copper things in my jewelry. Love copper!

Just for Inspiration

Look at the beauty! I want beads that look like this!

I don't know who's photo it is, I took it from [info]randompictures.

About me in Spanish APE Newsletter

Right after my ring tutorial was published in French polymer clay portal Parole De Pate French visitors to my blog outnumbered those from USA and Ukraine (Russia always stays on the first place:).
And now the same tutorial appeared in Spanish Polymer Clay Guild Newsletter (on the very last page of it, almost at the back cover:)) Thanks to Marivi Ricart (Boolingas on Flickr), the vice president of Spanish pc guild, who wrote the article and translated my tutorial.
If you are a member of A.P.E. and speak Spanish:) you can read this newsletter. It contains many interesting articles about polymer clay meetings, techniques, tutorials and a swap gallery. There is even an interview with Grant Diffendaffer who taught his master classes this year in Spain.
If you are not an APE member you can become one and subscribe to their newsletters, otherwise I will just show of a bit and quote what was wrote about me in Spanish;)

Beautiful Things and Their Masters

Currently sources of my inspiration are mainly works of two artists.
One is Svetlana Matusa, Serbian artist who now lives in Reykjavik. I saw her shop and studio in January when I was traveling in Iceland. I wish I could spend five hundred dollars and buy her gorgeous tea pot and a pair of tea cups! She makes beautiful pottery and ceramics! Her works resemble Icelandic lava rocks and moss-grown stones.
Svetlana has a web site - http://svetlanamatusa.com
But you should definitely go to Reykjavik and see for yourself.
I fell in love with how tiny little holes of lava rocks were recreated in Svetlana's ceramics and was mesmerized by its curves, natural colors and beauty!

Another artist, Kate Clawson, lives in USA near Philadelphia. Her flickr and etsy shop called Organic Oddesseys.
Her organic designs appeared in Susan Lomuto's blog.

I love it, love it, love it!

My last "nature" collection is an attempt to make something as beautiful as their works.
Lava stones that I brought back from Iceland help me recreate organic holes and shapes. I wander around the neighborhood looking at stones, trees, moss, leaves, bricks, knobs and all sorts of magical manifestations of nature.

Wire Wrapping technique

Yes, I did fall in love with wire!
A few month ago I told myself I'll never be touching any wire, because the material is too rough and uninteresting. And now I just can't stop thinking how and what to wire-wrap next.
What a beauty! It's not mine... well... yet;) looking forward to be able to make something like this:

In this post I'll collect all helpful and/or beautiful links I can find on wire wrapping tutorials and galleries.
1- http://groups.msn.com/FineWire/lessonlinks.msnw - a bunch of great links
2- http://www.geocities.com/my4jewels/wirewrappedringtutorial.html - how to make a wire ring
